Wild Woman

There is a wild woman within me.

She travels the earth, soaring in the skies, blazoned by fire, and gliding through the waters.

The rain kisses her cheeks, drenching her soul, reviving her.

She wraps herself in the forest growths and a shroud of darkness, clothed in their protection,

The fragrance of herbs and elements caress her skin providing her a sweet perfume.

She runs through the wild abyss, her path coursing through my veins.

Around a ring of fire, she dances and sings, bathed in moonlight and stardust.

Surrounded by wisps of smoke, weaving through her fingers and hair,

The ancestors whisper to her, sharing secrets yet to be known to the world.

She is the guardian of their secrets, seeking truth and delivering their messages.

Outside of her earthy haven, the venom of the ill-hearted constricts upon the soul.

Gazing toward the moon, beating her breasts, she lets out an earth shattering cry.

Her battle cries rattle my bones, shaking me to my very core, awakening my spirit.

She fights for the light, standing against malice and deprivation.

I listen for her calls, her cries breaking through the heavens and the hearts of others.

She calls for silence and solitude.

Openness and togetherness.

She calls for us.

For the discontented, restless, and broken hearted.

The free spirits, bohemians, and misfits.

Join with her. Fight alongside her.

Blend our battle cries into a melody of fierceness and boldness.

Shake the world with our melody, breaking the grasp of bitterness and ignorance.

Run with her. Soar with her.

She takes on to heights and depths unknown before. Shattering our preconceived horizons.

Awakening the soul, mind, and life within ourselves.

She darts to another corner of her realm, staying the course, covered in mystery.

This wild woman remains within me.

She is my wild woman.

I am this wild woman.

Within the Circle

In the darkness my heart beats with the drums,

My spirit lifted upon the winds of the flute,

Whispering through the flames.

In the stillness images appear spoken from the heart, dancing in the air

A silenced mind, the spirit conversing with the universe

Listen to her words coursing through, exchanging energy

Sounds of ancestors and times past echo within

Returning the spirit to its original creation

Mixture of earth and soul renewed

Waters rushing, flames consuming, smoke surrounding

All the woes fleshed and fallen

Strength and peace emerge glistening in the new day

Mine Alone

My mind wanders, reeling with fears of the worst
Time passing slowly, dauntingly
If only life could jump ahead
Questions answered, solutions found, worries quietened

Strength tested and pushed to new limits
All that was known, turned and changed
Unfamiliar and trying, time is only sparingly vacant
Adapting, learning, struggling unceasing

Fear becomes all consuming whilst the mind wanders
The load weighs heavy to shelter my new charge
Mustnt show my lapses, must remain strong beats the song
Heart fights the battle, distracts the mind, and hides the difficulty

Are these fears shared with my charge, I dare not press
Guilt accompanies such curiosities, how dare thee ask
Shielding from extra burden, enough is there
This is mine to bear, a chance to return all the care

Sweet Serenity

Life, with all your uncertainties, how terrifying you are
Your pain often overshadows the joys
Always reminding us of our vunerable states
Laughing at us as we fall apart and must rebuild

But you O sweet serenity of death
Always so welcoming to embrace
As I cry out in pain and my fears overwhelm
It's your sweet voice that comforts
Reminding me of our fleeting shared moments
And the calm that you are

I'll never forget the strength you've provided
The sweetest peace I've ever experienced
As one day I'll join your side, never to part again

Haunted and Scarred

You entered my life in a gust of bravo with your eye on the prize
Chaos and pain in the guise of care and concern
Only to be revealed when I was at my weakest
Then you won what you had sought

A cycle of despair and hope intertwined
This time will be different, this was the last
You had me by the throat
All I could do was grin and not let on

You come in so many forms
Each time altering but always the same
To break me down for your control
Hurt and confused you continued to win

To break free of your grasp was my prize
You still haunt me, in your many forms
Although stronger now
I remain haunted, scarred of the memories

Calamity

To call me back again, to force me back
Is against my will, against my soul
You long to hurt me, to bend me to your way

You surround me, smother me
If only for a moment
I gasp for air, claw for release
To be free of you, O calamity of mine

You may break me in a thousand pieces
I will not succumb to your ways, to your manipulations

My spirit will not remain caged
I will break forth with new found hope
As I am called into the light
Basked in it's wondrous glory that is all

Haunted

Too many memories lurk in the darkness simply waiting
Past pains deeply etched in the crevasses of the mind
Silhouettes of persons and times emerge from the shadows
The psyche's pleas for mercy go unheeded

Consumed with cruel vestiges of time
The haunting presence forever burned into my soul
Memories transfigured into forms of terror
Events in time and persons once trusted

A disturbed mind so tormented
Unwarranted vigils to the past now indelible
My mind's futile escape from itself
Leaves me clinging to shattered moments of refuge

Sweet refuge, hiding me from encroaching shadows of time
Your watchful eye lingers only awhile
In those moments, the hauntings are forgotten
Until the tide turns and the mind is flooded once again with darkness

I am left forever haunted

Transcendence

Universal connections gleam inspiration and knowledge unknown before to the untrained mind 

Enlightenment hidden within the mortal and quiescent forms, frequently chased and rarely discerned

A never ending quest for sentience brings forth harmony to the universe within us

Granting change and freedom to our minds and bodies, forever sought after

This powerful bodhi of the universe awakens our souls, transforming our beings

It is within this new self that the universe's secrets are learned and we are mastered

Release worldly ideas and aims, align yourself with the universe and your body will follow

Transcend the depths of what is known and regain your rightful self

Choice

How am I to make a choice I am against?

How am I to do your bidding when it hurts me so?

Tell me this, how am I to erase the trauma you have burnt into my mind?

Physical pain may not last, but your trauma will never cease.

You have tied me downHow, stripped me of my dignity

Forced me to choose between my life and a life of hell at your feet.

I will not remain in these chains, I will break free however I must

My blood, my death, will be on your hands and may that be burnt into your mind.

Sweet Swallow

How far have you flown sweet swallow?
How far will your journey be?
What marvels have you seen?
Whose pains have you listened to and whose
cares have you lifted to the sky?

Sing me your cares and lighten your load,
For your heart will become heavy if not
Sing me your hopes and dreams,
Offer them to the sky, may they come true!

Fly away sweet swallow, see where your travels
lead you and think of me, sweet swallow.

Never Ending

Closure never comes as the dawn breaks forth

Revealing the lurking shadows of haunting pasts

Spirits of yesterday laugh and mock, taunting

Sending reminders of what was once and forever more

Prayers and pleas lose all power

Menacing hope is empty and cruel

Warmth turns to coldness as the shadows close in

Darkness surrounds and I am no more

Spontaneous

I'm falling, I'm falling fast

The hurt from all the past is catching up to me

How could you? How could I?

Down, spiraling down into a bottomless pit

I'm lost in the darkness, there's no way out

I try to climb only to fall

There's no one there

So I land, covered in the ashes

Broken and whole, left for eternity

Double Edge Sword

Like a fortress stands my heart, surrounded by resistance,

Withstanding man's abusive showers.

I watch as you attempt to break through knowing that if

You were to succeed I'd be left in the cold, vulnerable, and alone.

You try so hard to disguise your silver forked tongue in a

Facade of meaningless romance.

But all is in vain, as your kind is well known.

Refusing to be made a fool, only he who is true and noble will overthrow my defenses.

Nature's Strength

Life is hidden amongst the shoreline waters 'til the changing course turns inward.

The water below yearns for the rays of sun beaming down to coax the sea to glisten.

Rare is the mollusk whose outer charm is shared with the deep opalesce beauty hiding within.

Even Death Valley harbors unknown treasured gems of life and underwater grandeur.

And like the chamise seed, which yields itself to the blistering flame to unlock its splendor,

So is it with the virtue of God's beloved creations fulfilled through provoked soul exploration.

Silky Lies

Your web keeps growing though the silk be thin.

Don't give me your two cents made of lead or a fake original.

You are trying to mislead me with all of your lies while

Ignoring the reality that you are indeed the misled.

Your lies are so many that all brand you an insecure liar.

That web has grown for so long, you have lost your

Entire self and so have we.

The only way out of those murky waters of your personal

Hell is to join the reality of self.

Footholds on Life

Trees in full bloom sway in the breeze with their purity and grace

Like the souls of the world losing their footholds on life.

But being grounded in love, rich in purity and truth,

They regain their steps to triumph over life and

Rest at the feet of their Creator.

The Question

O my heart! How it aches for your presence,

For days of old when our hearts were one.

Those were the days of true bliss.

How many years has it been since we were intertwined?

Our paths have split and still I cannot stop to

Wonder if my heart will heal with the

Companionship of your heart or with that of another's.

And yet there still is a true connection that bonds us together.

When your presence graces my life, only then am I complete.

And yet here is where my heart is torn in decision,

This connection, this wholeness that you bring to my life...

Is it true love that is destined in the stars,

Or is it a unique friendship that completes me?

Lifted Up

I fall down before you,

Basked in your glory,

Surrounded by your

Endless love and grace,

To speak of things

You already know.

As my heart pours

Out my needs to you,

I see my words floating

Like music toward Heaven

To lie at your feet.

And I know I am heard.

The Symphony

An ode to the Creator bellows throughout the world, 

never ceasing in its magnifying worship.

From every corner of the earth comes a symphony to be 

carried on the wings of angels.

Can you hear it?

The winds whisper their love, waters hum with joy,

creatures sing their sweet melodies in awe 

and the celestial beings proclaim God's glory.

From every note floating through the Heavens comes a rejoicing dance.

Can you see it?

The percussion rhumbas, the winds tango, and the strings waltz 

with such captivating grace not even an angel could follow their lead.

Vibrations pulsate forth from these magnificent melodies and harmonies 

with unforgettable power.

Can you feel it?

The soft and strong pulses of worship ring throughout the earth, 

shattering all sadness and doubt.

Resounding zeal of the Lord is contagious in its movement of souls. 

The rhythms of grace and glory have no restrictions.

The symphony of the universe praises God in all His creations.

Through His creations, Let the symphony ring true!

Acquaintances at first, never giving another thought

Little did we know we had the other's attention caught

With Time fleeting, our friendship, flourished with illuminating hue

And in you I found the ingredients of one that's true

As cascading waters descend elegantly upon nature's path

So does Heaven's rejoicing love to strengthen our bonds like a lath

Surprises will be revealed as fate removes life's mimicry

For in you I have a best friend for all eternity.
